Diana Herrera, Week 2

I chose to photograph the sky because of the way the sunlight and clouds work together in the way a lighting instrument with a gobo function in a stage. In this picture the clouds are serving their purpose like a gobo. The clouds are creating these patterns in the sky and the sun light is shining through them creating effect of sunlight raining down on the earth. They highlight the sunlight. In the theatrical world you will use a gobo with patterns on it representing a cloudy and sunny day or a symbol to present an angel or spirit watching over you. This sight is very peaceful and calming to the eyes in a morning when everyone is rushing to start their day. It is a type of sense for hope.

  1. Wow simply stunning! Beautiful eye and great commentary! Light mixed with texture (whether it be gobos or even scenery (or sometimes painted sky drops that can be back-lit too) can make beautiful sky pictures, setting the tone for the entire play. Lovely!

  2. I really like that photo. I just like that you can see the sunbeams spreading down to the earth and shining through the clouds.
