Week 2- Guadalupe Reyes

During work I obviously need to use the restroom and the ones closest to where I usually am is in a small looking house. There's is like zero light in those restrooms and you always need to take your light or a flashlight to see inside there. This is the light we use to direct traffic. It always comes with me to the restroom, and it always makes me feel some type of way both scared and safe. The fact that it makes me feel safe is because I have some source of light lighting the restroom stall instead of having nothing and being pitch black. On the other hand it makes me feel scared because it's dark as it is already and the light being red makes it even scarier, when I see red I think of danger. This only shows me that color is so important, if it was just a normal light no color I would not feel scared at all. When I use the restroom I always hurry up to get out of there because those two emotions mixed together is weird to me.

  1. oooooh yes! Red light is both dramatic, important, and very theatrical. The color is so rich and vibrant that it has come to symbolize everything from love and passion, to anger and evil. So I can see why the fact that light is of course important in making you feel comfortable/safe, but the fact that the light source is red would definitely be conflicting! Unique blog! Nice job!
